Delivering Graphics-Accelerated Virtual Desktop and Applications

NVIDIA, the world leader in visual computing and Citrix have been working together for over a decade. Customers worldwide are benefitting from this partnership and using technologies to deliver the most demanding applications and workloads to users in virtual environments.

NVIDIA guarantees the highest level of application performance and compatibility by using native NVIDIA drivers across virtual desktop deployment. Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp are supported on leading hypervisors and bare metal.

Citrix XenDesktop® with NVIDIA GRID

NVIDIA GRID™ on Citrix XenDesktop enables companies to host Windows desktop instances in a datacenter. In addition to increasing security and compliance, many applications perform better due to faster connections to data, files, and network. NVIDIA GRID GPUs allows hosted desktops to deliver a full workstation experience even when users are connecting from any device such as a laptop, thin client, Chromebook or tablet.

Citrix XenApp® and NVIDIA GRID

Enterprises can deliver graphics-rich applications securely and flexibly from private or public clouds with NVIDIA GRID on Citrix XenApp. Based on Windows Server Remote Desktop Services (RDS), XenApp centrally delivers applications to users anywhere with low total cost of ownership. NVIDIA GRID ensures that even the most demanding 3D applications have the GPU horsepower they need keep users productive.

NVIDIA GRID™ vGPU™ on Citrix XenServer

NVIDIA and Citrix paved the way to offer true hardware virtualization of graphics for virtual desktops. GRID vGPU and Citrix XenServer technology allows for sharing GPU hardware acceleration between multiple virtual desktops—without compromising the graphics experience. Users get the same application features performance and compatibility as they would expect with a local desktop.

With GRID vGPU technology, the graphics commands of each virtual machine are passed directly to the GPU, without translation by the hypervisor. This allows the GPU hardware to be time-sliced to deliver the ultimate in shared virtualized graphics performance.
